i love Bali. I love Bali culture, Bali dances, Bali hotels, Bali beach, Bali ricefield, Bali view, Bali Panorama's, Bali people, Bali island. I love Bali very Much. Bali, Loving all of you.. ;-)
The island of Bali has long characterized the world as a "paradise" on earth last, a traditional society insulated from the modern world and the changes, whose inhabitants have exceptional artistic talents and consecrate a considerable amount of time and materials for traditional ceremonies and deities - her. Therefore, the relationship between tangible and intangible aspects is a major aspect of the heritage and culture of Bali. The cultural heritage of the island goes beyond physical structures and landscapes. More than elsewhere in the peninsula of Indonesia, there is a complex relationship between the built environment, natural setting and the social and religious life.
Bali is part of the Indonesian archipelago, located between eight and nine degrees south of the equator. Covering an area of 563.300 hectares including three offshore islands.
The combination of tropical climate, rain and fertile volcanic soil makes Bali an ideal place for crop cultivation, including growing paddy, coconut, clove and coffee. These agricultural activities have a major effect on the landscape of Bali, especially in the creation of rice terraces. Over the last thousand years, the Balinese make modifications that adjust their island, terracing hillsides and digging canals to irrigate the land, allowing them to grow rice.

River flow through the whole of Bali and continuous flow of water to support agricultural activities. Complex irrigation system has been created to take maximum benefit from the water. In the form of gratitude towards the water, which allows agricultural activities, the Balinese make offerings at the spring. The irrigation system also allows coordination of the cooperative, known as Subak. The organization is a democratic organization in which the farmers fields fed by the same water source, meet regularly to coordinate planting, to control the distribution of irrigation water and to plan the development and maintenance of canals and dams, as well as manage the offering ceremony and temple festivals subak .
Rice is the main food in Bali and the Balinese believe that rice is a gift from the gods. The first fruits are given back to the gods and elaborate ceremonies accompany each stage of rice plant growth.
Same with these natural elements, the Hindu religion dominates daily life in Bali. Hindu cosmology is on three levels: the gods are above the top of the mountain, the devil / evil forces are under the earth and sea, and the human world in between. Pura is a meeting place between man and god. Many rituals seek to maintain harmony, which also exists in the micro cosmos - mountains, sea and land - and who imagine everywhere in the layout of villages, homes, and pretend to be and even in the human body. This philosophy of the universe-Tri Hita Karana set the temple and surrounding landscape.
Villages in Bali is a tight network of social, religious and economic institutions, in which every person on the island is a part. Banjar, or village association is a clever form of government unique in Bali. These associations organize everyday life in great detail in accordance with local law.
Three cluster sites proposed for World Heritage inscription with a possible extension of the Besakih complex as an additional entry, which is in the process of socialization:
